Department of Infrastructure and Planning

The Department of Infrastructure and Planning works across Queensland to ensure planning and infrastructure essential to our state's prosperous future are developed and delivered. The Queensland Government brought planning functions together into one departure to lead, regional and state-wide planning initiatives and has embarked on the largest intrastructure program in the state's history.

Within the Department of Infrastructure and Planning is the Resource and Landscape Planning Unit, which is part of the Specialist and Infrastructure Planning Division, Planning Group.

The Resource and Landscape Planning unit is responsible for outdoor recreation activities related to:

Implementation of the SEQ Recreation Trails Program including the development of new recreation trails:

     - Brisbane Valley rail Trail
     - Boonah to Ipswich Recration Trail
     - Maroochy River canoe Trail

Investigations and development of SEQ Outdoor Recreation Strategy
Regional planning for outdoor recreation
Secretariat support for the community based Regional Landscape and Open Space Advisory Committee
Implementing the Scenic Amenity methodology and guidelines
Planning for the SEQ regional Open Space Network
